Get Ready for Your Business Spotlight
Know what to expect and how to make the most of your company’s upcoming profile.
We will visit your worksite for about 50 minutes to take photographs/video and interview the company’s owner or staff. Each participant will need to sign a media release form granting permission to participate. (We’ll also ask for permission to use any photos on your company’s social media.)
- Consider the best times to showcase your business. For example, we could visit a yoga studio before the start of class to interview the owner and then observe class.
- Communicate the day and time to all session participants and remind them when it’s coming up. Be sure they know how important this opportunity is for your business!
Consider what message you want prospective customers or clients to take away from the publicity.
- Would you like “actors” or even actual clients to participate? For example, restaurants could show patrons eating, a fitness instructor could show training, and retail could show patrons shopping.
- What props do you need to best communicate your business? A flower shop would have arrangements ready to photograph, and restaurants would have meals pre-made.
- What is the best location that allows us to capture images that convey your business? For example, a realtor might choose to hold the session at a house for sale.
- What information would you like to convey in the interview? (Your ideal spokesperson likes to talk.)
- Think about products/services, competitive differentiators, upcoming specials, and your connection to Braintree.
- We’ll also ask about your experience with BELD’s low electric rates and amazing customer service!
Be sure your staff or participants dress in professional attire that reflects your business.
Logo gear for your business if you have it.
Uniforms, if applicable, such as medical coats, scrubs, or staff uniforms.
Coordinating colors for multiple staff members.
Solid colors, which photograph better.
Patterns or stripes, which don’t photograph well.
Tank tops, short sleeves, or message t-shirts, unless that is part of your professional attire.
We'll let you know when your spotlight story will run, but first—make sure you’re ready for the attention!
- Update your website and social media pages. Check for typos, out-of-date information, and broken links.
- Post on social media (especially if you haven’t done so in a while) to show your social accounts are active.
Your story will post to BraintreeOpen4Business.com on the homepage. The direct link will be: https://braintreeopen4business.com/business/your-company-name/
- BELD will share the story via social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube) and post it to a few town Facebook pages (such as Everything Braintree and Braintree Is Everything). We will tag your business on these posts.
- You might see follow-up graphics about your business posted to BELD’s social media.
- Additional mentions could occur on BELD’s Bright Ideas print and email.
Share the spotlight URL via your own marketing channels, such as your website or e-newsletter.
Everything you do to share and promote your spotlight will boost the reach of this campaign!
- Most importantly, share BELD's social media posts.
- Leave a comment, something simple like “Thank you for spotlighting our company!”
- Ask your staff members and network to chime in.
- Respond when anyone shares or comments on your spotlight. Remember, engagement keeps the post bumping to the top of people’s feeds.
