Braintree Golf tees up community and conservation

Braintree Municipal Golf Course is a community resource where tradition meets evolution.

A treasured gathering spot for longtime club regulars, the 18-hole course is also seeing more new faces than ever.

  • This year, the club will host 50,000 rounds of golf and 18 shotgun tournaments.
  • Women’s, youth, and winter golf programs consistently sell out.
  • The club can accommodate a wide range of indoor and outdoor private events thanks to its beautiful function room and in-house catering. The facility hosts corporate and charity golf outings of up to 170 people, along with showers and birthday parties for as few as 12.
  • The grounds act as a small wildlife sanctuary, home to a half-dozen resident deer, seven goats, and a border collie named Tilly.

Daryn Brown has led Braintree Golf for three decades and is happy to see the community embrace the new programs and services. He adds, though, that one thing never changes.

“This is a golf course owned by the residents of Braintree. We could not do what we do without their support,” he said.

Top golf, good people

Business partnerships

New in 2023, businesses can purchase GPS advertising on Braintree Golf’s fleet of GPS-enabled golf carts. Display screens mounted to carts show an ad for 5 to 10 seconds on a particular hole. (Photo: Mark Hunt)

Catering and private events

Offering spectacular golf-course views, The Links Cafe at Braintree Golf was built in 2017 and is available for fully catered private events like family reunions and showers. The space can accommodate 130 people indoors and another 20 on the outdoor patio. (Photo: Mark Hunt)
